Ghoghar Temple, Rourkela

Ghoghar Temple is situated at a distance of 25 km from the city of Rourkela. The famous temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva. Set up in the beautiful environment of green trees, this temple holds immense significance among the Hindu pilgrims.

Devotees of Lord Shiva accumulate from the nearby areas of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand during the month of Shravan to pour water on the revered Shiv Ling of the temple. A stream flows near the temple, adding to the beauty of the place. The site of the temple contains a Shiv Ling that has been naturally formed from black stone.

The place is a famous picnic spot for the locals. The temple, also known as Ghoghar Dham, was constructed by the King of Raghunath, Sekhar Deo. There are facilities for devotees to share community lunch and stay near the temple.
