The Pench tourism is mainly famous for the Pench national park or the Pench Tiger Reserve which lies in the southern boundary of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The park is well known for its rich flora and fauna.

Jamun, teak, lendia, palas, bija, mahua, kusum, semal, bamboo are a few among the various species of herbaceous plants and grasses found here. Langur, civets, bears, chitals, tigers, sambars, wild dogs, boars, leopards and axis deers are the animals that inhabit this park.

Tourist Places In And Around Pench

Pench tourism offers some beautiful attractions which are Pachdhar village, Navegaon National Park, Kanha National Park, Nagpur and Nagzira sanctuary. All these places are close to Pench. Pachdhar village is a small village located at 18 km from the Pench turia gate.

Here the travellers can see potters making wonderful stuff from clay lumps. One can get the pleasure of watching this mesmerizing craft and take a model home. Pench tourism also offers a bunch of villages located around the Pench National Park where the tourists can see the local rituals and culture of Gond tribe.

Navegaon national park and Nagzira sanctuary are the other natural forests of Maharashtra which are also located near Pench. Kanha national park is located at 198 km from Pench.

Visiting The Pench National Park

Visitors can visit the park from 16th October to 30th June every year and the park remains closed during the monsoon time i.e. from July to September. The best time to pay a visit to this national park is between the months of February and April. The park timings for the visitors are from 6 am - 10.30 am and in the noon it again opens from 3 pm – 6 pm.

This park has a magnificent history. The richness and natural treasure of the place has been described in Ain-i-Akbari. The Pench National Park and its environs happens to be the unique setting of ‘The Jungle Book’, contributed by Rudyard Kipling.

Travellers can reach Pench by trains, flights and by road as well. The nearest railhead to Pench is the Seoni station which is located in Madhya Pradesh.

Nearest airport to Pench is Sonegaon airport in Nagpur. Seoni bus stand is the nearby bus junction to Pench from where tourists can avail private and public buses to reach Pench.
