South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to remove the stoppage at Gadag Bypass for its summer special trains. The halt had earlier been announced despite objections from residents of Gadag. However, passengers were unable to book tickets to or from Gadag Bypass because the station was not included in either the online or offline reservation systems.

Yeshwantpur-Vijayapura Express Special
To improve passenger convenience, SWR has also increased the frequency of Train No. 06577/06578, the Yeshwantpur-Vijayapura Express Special. Earlier, the train operated once a week, but it will now run twice a week, providing more travel options for passengers.
South Western Railway to Improve Operational Efficiency
At the same time, the railway has removed the operational halt at Gadag Bypass. According to officials, this decision will improve operational efficiency and reduce the journey time. With the removal of the stop, trains will pass through the station without halting.
SWR has officially designated Gadag Bypass as a through station for both the up and down services of the Yeshwantpur-Vijayapura Express Special. This means that while the trains will continue to travel through the route, passengers will no longer be able to board or deboard at Gadag Bypass.
The move is expected to streamline train operations and make travel faster for passengers on the route. The increased frequency of the special train is also likely to benefit travelers by offering additional services during the busy travel season. Overall, the changes are aimed at improving passenger convenience while ensuring smoother and more efficient train operations.
