Mumbai is now going through a big change in weather. After days of strong heat, the city is seeing a cooling trend with rain and thunderstorms expected. The Meteorological Department has given a yellow alert for the next 24 hours. Thunderstorms are likely in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad.

The city is expected to have light to moderate rainfall, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Along with the rain, strong winds may blow at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. These weather changes are a relief for the people of Mumbai who were suffering from the hot weather.
Temperature Drops Across the Region
According to the forecast, the daytime temperature in Mumbai will be around 31 degrees Celsius. At night, it will drop to about 28 degrees Celsius. This cooler weather is making life more comfortable for residents.
Thane is also expected to have cloudy skies, with a chance of thunderstorms in the later part of the day. Here too, wind speeds will be strong, between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The temperature in Thane will stay between 27 and 34 degrees Celsius.
In Navi Mumbai, weather conditions are quite similar. Overcast skies and moderate rain are expected, along with thunderstorms and high wind speeds. The temperature will also be close to what is predicted in Thane. These conditions may cause traffic jams during the evening rush hours.
Light Rain in the Morning, More to Come
Some areas in Mumbai already saw light rain in the early morning, showing signs of the weather ahead. This early drizzle is expected to grow into heavier showers in the coming hours.
Rain Alert in Palghar and Precautions
In Palghar, cloudy weather is expected with chances of light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Wind speeds in this area will be between 30 to 45 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be near 25 degrees Celsius.
People living in Palghar, especially farmers and those working outside, are advised to be careful due to the stormy weather.
Relief from Heat but Caution Needed
The sudden change in weather-from hot days to cloudy skies and thunderstorms-is a big shift. While the rain is helping to lower temperatures, it is also likely to cause problems like traffic delays and outdoor disruptions. People are advised to be careful and stay updated with weather news.
The rain and wind are seen as a break from the hot weather, but Mumbai and nearby areas are getting ready for a full week of stormy and changing conditions.
