A high-speed bullet train project that will connect Varanasi to Howrah is making steady progress. This exciting project aims to improve travel speed and comfort for people in Eastern India. The train will pass through the Jagdishpur block in Bhojpur district of Bihar. For this, both public and private lands will need to be acquired in various villages. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is managing this big development.
Train route to pass through many villages
To build this high-speed train corridor, officials are marking the land needed across several panchayats in Bhojpur district. Many villages in the Jagdishpur block will be part of the route. These include Bhatauli, Bimwa, Chakwa, Dawa, Hardiya, Harigaon, Hetampur, Kataibojh, Kaura, Teer, Uttardaha, and Tulsi. A detailed route map has already been prepared. This map shows exactly how much land will be needed from each village.
Land acquisition process has started
To begin land acquisition, the District Magistrate of Bhojpur has issued a public notice. This notice directs the Circle Officer of Jagdishpur to mark the land that will be acquired. The notice also provides details like what types of land are needed, how much area will be used, and which plots (by Khasra numbers) are targeted. The officials are looking at both government and private lands for this project.
Groundwork and field survey by officials
Circle Officer Vishwajit Nilankar has confirmed that the first phase of work has started. In this phase, officials are checking the land physically, gathering information about the landowners, and preparing a detailed report for the District Magistrate. A list of government-owned plots has also been made.
Vishwajit Nilankar further said that after official approval is received for the land acquisition, land measurement and other related steps will begin. He mentioned, "Once formal instructions for land acquisition are received, land measurement and further procedural steps will begin following the issuance of public notices."

This bullet train project is a big step in Bihar's infrastructure development. Jagdishpur will become an important point on India's fast-growing bullet train network. This train will not only bring better connectivity to the local people but will also improve transport between important cities like Varanasi and Howrah.
