The Vande Bharat Express, India's premier semi-high-speed train, now directly connects Yadgiri with Bengaluru. On Saturday night, Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna inaugurated the SMVT Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express (train number 22232), which will include a stop at Yadgiri.
According to Deccan Herald, this new service enhances between Yadgiri and Bengaluru, significantly improving travel options for residents. The train's schedule shows it departs from Yadgir at 5:55 am towards Bengaluru and returns from Bengaluru at 9:44 pm heading back to Kalaburagi.
Investment in Karnataka's Railway Infrastructure
Minister Somanna highlighted that the state government is investing heavily in railway infrastructure. A total of Rs 2,900 crore has been allocated for upgrading 59 railway stations across Karnataka. Specifically, Yadgir station will receive Rs 7.5 crore for its upgrade, while Kalaburagi station will see improvements worth Rs 12.5 crore.
The launch of this new service follows the recent introduction of the Bengaluru to Ernakulam Vande Bharat Express. This earlier launch sparked discussions among Keralites in Bengaluru about the train's speed, comfort, and reduced travel time. However, some critics pointed out that the schedule and frequency might not suit all passengers.
Bengaluru-Yadgir Vande Bharat: Train Schedule
The new Vande Bharat Express service aims to provide better travel options for people commuting between Yadgiri and Bengaluru. The morning departure from Yadgir is set at 5:55 am, while the evening return journey from Bengaluru is scheduled for 9:44 pm.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve railway services in Karnataka. The substantial investments in station upgrades are expected to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency across the state.
The introduction of this direct route is expected to benefit daily commuters and occasional travellers alike by offering a faster and more comfortable journey between these two cities.
