Parts of Chennai will face a planned maintenance shutdown today, October 5, from 9 am to 2 pm. Tangedco has listed clusters including Thillaiganga Nagar, Chetpet, Chitlapakkam, Sengundram and Nehru Nagar. Restoration may occur earlier as crews finish work. Plan refrigeration, lifts and water pumping around this window. Use the locality snapshot and tools below to verify your street.
Use this condensed, circle‑wise view to see if your lane appears today. The entries reflect Tangedco’s 9 am–2 pm window and group nearby streets served by the same feeders. If your exact street is missing, check adjacent colonies or the official bulletin, because maintenance blocks often span clusters. Early closures are possible once work wraps up.

Chennai power cut today: helplines and live restoration tools
For status or complaints, call Minnagam 1912 or WhatsApp 94987 94987. To track live restoration, open Tangedco’s feeder and substation dashboards, which refresh every few minutes. The “Fuse‑off call circle‑wise” page also shows real‑time load of complaints. These tools help confirm rolling restorations before 2 pm. Keep your Consumer Number handy when calling.
Working from home today? Avoid using elevators near the cut window and schedule water pumping before 9 am. Charge laptops, hotspots and UPS batteries, and avoid running high‑load appliances on small inverters. If power extends beyond the window, log a complaint and monitor your feeder’s live tile for rollback updates and crew activity before escalating locally.
Planning ahead for tomorrow helps too. Tangedco’s next set of maintenance shutdowns on Tuesday, October 6, is expected across pockets like Saidapet, Medavakkam, Tiruverkadu, Tambaram and Kundrathur, typically within the 9 am–2 pm band. Treat these as tentative and confirm on the official outage viewers by evening for street‑level accuracy.
