The monsoon has fully arrived in Uttar Pradesh, bringing heavy rain to districts like Lucknow, Prayagraj, Meerut, and Varanasi. This has led to a noticeable drop in temperatures. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across many parts of the state today.

Rainfall is expected to persist till July 7, with the weather remaining active since June 29. In the next 48 hours, the southern parts of the state might experience heavy rain and lightning. On Wednesday, showers accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely in various locations within both divisions.
Heavy Rainfall Alerts Across Uttar Pradesh
An orange alert for very heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is in place for Lalitpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Mirzapur, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for Jalaun, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, and Shravasti.
In Agra and Firozabad, today, rain is expected at several locations. Pratapgarh and Jaunpur will also see rainfall. Similarly, Mathura and Aligarh will experience showers along with Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Auraiya, Kanpur, Unnao, Raebareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, and Balrampur.
Weather Conditions Across Various Districts
No alerts have been issued for these districts despite the expected rain. Light showers might occur at one or two places in Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Ayodhya, Basti, Ambedkar Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gorakhpur, and Deoria today.
There will be no significant change in the maximum and minimum temperatures of the state over the next four days. People should prepare for potential waterlogging and traffic jams due to continuous rain until July 5.
