Uttar Pradesh Announces Four New Link Expressways to Enhance Connectivity

On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed plans to introduce four new link expressways. This initiative comes after a detailed study and action plan aimed at boosting the state's connectivity. During a high-level meeting, CM Yogi reviewed the progress of ongoing and new expressway projects, along with the development of the industrial and defence corridors.

UP s Four New Link Expressways

New Expressway Connections

The new expressways will create important links:

- Purvanchal Expressway: This will be connected to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

- Ganga Expressway: This expressway, connecting Farrukhabad to Jewar Airport, will have two link expressways.

Completion of Ganga Expressway

The Ganga Expressway, which links Meerut to Prayagraj, is expected to be completed and open to the public by December. This is timely, as it will allow devotees from across the country and the world to use the expressway when traveling to the Prayagraj Kumbh in 2025.

Significant Growth Since 2017

CM Yogi emphasized the strong support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting the remarkable infrastructure growth since 2017. Seven years ago, Uttar Pradesh had only two expressways. Today, the state boasts six expressways, and the length of national highways has almost doubled. CM Yogi proudly declared that Uttar Pradesh is now becoming the "Expressway State."

Progress on Gorakhpur Link Expressway

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway is making good progress and promises excellent connectivity for the districts of Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Azamgarh, and Ambedkar Nagar. This link will greatly improve access and transportation in these regions.

Bundelkhand Expressway

The Bundelkhand Expressway, a vital link road connecting to Chitrakoot, is being expedited to meet public expectations. Reports indicate that a budget has been allocated to ensure its timely completion, significantly enhancing Bundelkhand's connectivity.

Integrating Jewar Airport

To further improve connectivity, a world-class airport is under construction in Jewar. Integrating this airport into the expressway network is essential. A link expressway from the Ganga Expressway to Jewar Airport would be a suitable addition.

Additional Link Expressways

- Agra-Lucknow to Purvanchal Expressway: Constructing a link expressway from the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway is necessary for seamless travel.

- Ganga Expressway to Agra-Lucknow Expressway: Another link expressway should connect the Ganga Expressway to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway via Farrukhabad.

These new expressways, along with the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, will significantly boost the state's infrastructure and connectivity. A detailed report
