Travelers at Ahmedabad's domestic airport now have access to affordable refreshments with the opening of the Udan Yatri Cafe. The new cafe will be inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday, March 7, at 5:30 PM at Terminal-1. This initiative ensures that passengers can enjoy refreshments at lower prices, making travel more convenient and affordable.

Budget-Friendly Food and Beverages
Passengers arriving from major cities like Delhi and Chennai can now buy tea and water bottles for just Rs. 10, while coffee and samosas are available for Rs. 20. This move is expected to benefit travelers who often find airport food prices too expensive.
Traditionally, the cost of food and beverages at airports has been high. In Ahmedabad, a water bottle usually costs between Rs. 20 and Rs. 70, while tea and coffee can range from Rs. 150 to Rs. 350, depending on the brand. Similarly, two samosas could cost around Rs. 250, making it difficult for passengers to purchase snacks and drinks.
Affordable Refreshments for Over 30,000 Passengers
The Udan Yatri Cafe aims to change this situation by offering snacks and beverages at prices similar to railway stations. With over 30,000 passengers traveling through Ahmedabad's domestic airport daily and more than 200 flights operating each day, this initiative is expected to make a significant impact.
By providing refreshments at reasonable rates, the cafe enhances the overall airport experience, making food accessible to a larger number of travelers. It also offers a practical alternative for budget-conscious passengers who prefer not to spend excessively on food while waiting for their flights.
The launch of the Udan Yatri Cafe marks an important step toward making airport travel more comfortable and affordable. High food costs have long been a concern for passengers at airports across the country, and this initiative sets an example for other airports to follow.
With this new facility, travelers can now enjoy quality refreshments without worrying about high prices. If more airports adopt similar measures, passengers across India could benefit from lower food costs in the future.
