Mumbai Rain Alert Today

Mumbai and Thane are also expected to receive rain today. The IMD forecast indicates light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai, while Thane may see moderate showers. Rain is likely to continue over the next few days, although the intensity may vary.

Several Regions in Maharashtra to Receive Rainfall

Raigad is expected to receive moderate rainfall, with heavy showers possible at isolated locations. Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg may also experience heavy rainfall in some areas. The weather department has advised people in vulnerable locations to remain alert, especially because heavy rain can increase the risk of waterlogging, flooding and landslides.

Nashik is likely to see light rain and thunderstorms, while the surrounding Ghats may receive moderate showers. Pune and Satara are expected to have light rainfall, but heavy rain remains possible in the Ghat areas of both districts. Sangli is likely to receive light rain.

The IMD has also warned of problems caused by heavy rain, including waterlogging in low-lying areas, flash floods, falling trees, damage to weak structures and disruption to road, rail, air and ferry services. Coastal areas may experience rough sea conditions and strong winds. Landslides and mudslides are also possible in vulnerable hilly regions.

Advisory for Mumbai Residents

People are advised to check weather and traffic updates before travelling and avoid open areas during thunderstorms. Residents should also stay away from tall trees, water bodies and weak structures during periods of heavy rain or lightning. The IMD has urged people to follow local authorities' advisories and regularly check updated forecasts as monsoon conditions can change quickly.
