Passengers traveling between Hyderabad and Bangalore now have a reason to rejoice. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced a 10% reduction in bus fares on this busy route. This decision, shared by TSRTC MD Sajjanar on the social media platform X, aims to make travel more affordable for regular commuters and attract more passengers who usually choose private transport.

New Ticket Prices for Hyderabad-Bangalore Buses
With the revised fares, passengers can now save between Rs. 100 and Rs. 160 on their journey. The new ticket prices are as follows:
- AC Sleeper (Berth) - Rs. 1412 (earlier Rs. 1569)
- AC Sleeper-Seater - Rs. 1083 (earlier Rs. 1203)
- Rajadhani - Reduced fares available
- Non-AC Sleeper-Seater - Reduced fares available
- Non-AC Seater - Reduced fares available
- Super Luxury - Reduced fares available
The discount is expected to benefit IT employees, students, and frequent travelers, especially those who often commute between the two cities on weekends.
Booking and Travel Information
TSRTC advises passengers to book their tickets through the official website to avail the discounted fares. The corporation hopes that this price reduction will encourage more people to choose public transport over private buses, making their journey more economical and comfortable.
TSRTC's Efforts to Improve Public Transport
This fare reduction is part of TSRTC's continuous efforts to enhance public transport services. Previously, the Telangana government introduced the **Mahalaxmi scheme**, which allows women to travel for free on Pallevelugu and Express buses. With the latest move, TSRTC continues to provide better services and make travel more accessible for passengers.
While the impact of this fare reduction on TSRTC's revenue is yet to be seen, the initiative is expected to increase ridership. If successful, similar discounts might be introduced on other routes, further improving public transport options for passengers.
