Trains to be Affected: The Central Railway Mumbai Division to Conduct a Maintenance Block on 19 July

The Central Railway (CR) Mumbai Division will conduct a major maintenance block on its suburban network on Sunday, July 19. The work will involve essential engineering and infrastructure maintenance activities. Due to the block, train services on the Main Line and Trans-Harbour Line will be affected, with some suburban trains cancelled and several long-distance trains diverted.

Maintenance Block on 19 July

On the Main Line, a maintenance block will be carried out on the 5th and 6th railway lines between Vidyavihar and Thane from 8 am to 1:30 pm. During this period, some long-distance trains will be diverted through alternate routes, which may result in delays of around 10 to 15 minutes.

List of Trains to be Affected

The affected Down Mail and Express trains include the LTT-Gorakhpur Express, LTT-Jaynagar Express, LTT-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express and LTT-Kakinada Port Express. These trains will be shifted to the Down Fast line at Vidyavihar and later moved back to the 5th line at Thane.

Several Up Mail and Express trains will also undergo route changes. These include the Pune-CSMT Sinhagad Express, Pune-CSMT Deccan Queen, Mangaluru-CSMT Express, Rajgir-LTT Express, Kakinada Port-LTT Express, Pragati Express, Solapur-CSMT Vande Bharat Express, Banaras-LTT Express, Howrah-CSMT Express and Hatia-LTT Express. These trains will be diverted through the Up Fast line at Thane before being connected to the 6th line at Vidyavihar.

A separate mega block will be implemented on the Trans-Harbour Line between Thane and Vashi/Nerul from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. During this period, suburban train services between Thane-Vashi, Thane-Nerul and Thane-Panvel will remain suspended.
The affected services include Down trains from Thane towards Vashi, Nerul and Panvel between 10:35 am and 4:07 pm, as well as Up trains heading towards Thane from Panvel, Nerul and Vashi between 10:25 am and 4:09 pm.

Why are the Maintenance Blocks Essential?

Central Railway stated that these maintenance blocks are essential for upgrading railway infrastructure and ensuring safe and efficient train operations. Passengers have been advised to check updated train schedules, plan their journeys accordingly, and cooperate with railway authorities during the maintenance work.
