Sini stations using a Track Renewal Train (TRT) machine. As a result, six MEMU trains have been cancelled on different dates.

Train Operations to be Affected

The maintenance work is scheduled from June 12 to June 14 on the down line section between Mahali Marup and Sini stations. To complete the project safely and efficiently, railway officials have planned a TRT block lasting 3 hours and 45 minutes on Friday and Sunday. During this period, train operations on the affected route will be restricted from 9:30 AM to 1:15 PM. Railway authorities stated that replacing old sleepers is necessary to improve track safety, ensure smooth train operations, and maintain the overall condition of the railway infrastructure.

Affected Services to Cause Inconvenience

The cancellation of these trains is expected to cause inconvenience to many daily passengers. Students, office workers, and small traders who regularly depend on these affordable MEMU services for commuting may face difficulties during the maintenance period. The railway administration has advised passengers to check the latest train schedules and service updates before starting their journey to avoid unnecessary trouble. Officials have assured that normal train services will resume once the maintenance work is completed.

List of Affected Trains

The affected trains include the Chakulia-Tatanagar MEMU and Tatanagar-Barbil MEMU, which will remain cancelled until June 13. The Barbil-Tatanagar MEMU and Tatanagar-Chakulia MEMU have been cancelled on June 12 and June 14. Additionally, the Rourkela-Tatanagar MEMU and Tatanagar-Rourkela MEMU services were cancelled on June 12.

Railway officials have requested passengers to cooperate during the maintenance period, emphasizing that the work is essential for improving safety and ensuring reliable train services in the future. Once the sleeper replacement work is finished, train operations in the section are expected to return to normal immediately.
