Traffic Restrictions Implemented For Bombay High Court Foundation Ceremony In BKC

Mumbai Police have announced traffic restrictions in Bandra-Kurla Complex for the Bombay High Court foundation ceremony on September 23. The event requires temporary traffic diversions to ensure safety and smooth vehicular flow. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this period.

The Mumbai Police have announced traffic restrictions in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) for the foundation stone ceremony of the new Bombay High Court building on 23rd September. This event will take place at Government Colony Ground in Kherwadi, Bandra (East), and will be attended by Supreme Court and Bombay High Court judges, along with other VVIPs.

To ensure a smooth event without public inconvenience, a temporary traffic management order has been issued. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Samadhan Pawar, stated that these measures are necessary to prevent any danger or obstruction to the public. The restrictions will be effective from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the day of the ceremony.

Traffic Diversions in BKC

During this period, both directions of traffic on New English School road, which connects Ramkrishna Paramhansa Marg and J. L. Shirsekar Marg, will be closed to all vehicles except those related to the event. Motorists are advised to use Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir road as an alternative route.

In another notification, Mumbai Police addressed motorists using the Mumbai Coastal Road. It is now operational every day from 7:00 AM to midnight. However, stopping vehicles to take pictures or videos on this road is strictly prohibited.

Mumbai Coastal Road Advisory

The Coastal Road's southbound route from Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk through Rajani Patel Chowk (Lotus Junction) and Amarsons Udyan to Marine Drive remains open. The northern route from Marine Drive to Bandra-Worli Sea Link is also accessible.

The Dharmveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Marg (Mumbai Coastal Road) was partially opened for fast traffic movement on 11th March 2024. This section runs from Bindu Madhav Junction to Marine Drive (Princess Street Bridge) southbound.

From 20th September onwards, the Mumbai Coastal Road will be available for traffic daily from morning until midnight, except for certain restricted vehicles.

These measures aim to facilitate smooth vehicular flow while ensuring safety during significant events like the High Court building's foundation ceremony. Motorists are encouraged to follow these guidelines for a hassle-free experience on Mumbai roads.
