In anticipation of the Day Parade, set for May 1, 2025, at Shivaji Park, Dadar, the Mumbai Traffic Police have outlined significant traffic adjustments. These adjustments include road closures and diversions from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, aiming to ensure a smooth flow of the parade and safeguard public safety. To manage the expected influx of vehicles and maintain order, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Samadhan Pawar, highlighted the need for these changes under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Restrictions and Routes for Smooth Traffic Flow
Specific roads around Shivaji Park will see a temporary transformation to accommodate the parade. Keluskar Road (North and South) will be inaccessible to the general public, with entry limited to invitees. Meanwhile, S. K. Bole Road will transition into a one-way street from Siddhivinayak Junction to the Portuguese Church Junction. Similarly, Swatantraveer Savarkar Road will restrict vehicle entry from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction. These alterations are designed to reroute traffic efficiently around the parade area, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities.
For attendees coming from various parts of Mumbai, dedicated routes have been established. Those arriving from South and Central Mumbai can use the Tilak Flyover, while those from the Western Suburbs might prefer Mahim Old Cadell Road or Mahim L. J. Road. Each route has been carefully planned to facilitate easy access to Shivaji Park, directing invitees to enter through specific gates.
Motorists and residents are advised to steer clear of the parade vicinity between 6 AM and 12 PM to avoid congestion and delays. The police will place signage and personnel strategically to guide traffic and assist both drivers and pedestrians, ensuring everyone's convenience during the parade.
Parking Arrangements and Traffic Advice
To prevent any parking chaos, certain streets, including Keluskar Road (North and South) and Pandurang Naik Road, will be designated as no-parking zones. However, emergency vehicles from the police, BMC, and PWD will have designated parking areas at locations like Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Smarak Hall and Kohinoor PPL. For the general public without a car pass, parking will be available at the Kohinoor Parking Lots of BMC, ensuring that attendees do not face difficulties in parking their vehicles.
The parade will progress from Shivaji Park Ground through Gate No. 5, navigating through various streets before concluding at Naarli Baug. This carefully planned route will showcase the parade's highlights while accommodating the expected spectator turnout.
By adhering to these traffic guidelines and parking arrangements, participants and spectators can contribute to the success of the Maharashtra Day Parade. It's an endeavor to celebrate with pomp while ensuring public safety and minimal disruption to the city's routine. The Mumbai Traffic Police's advisory serves as a comprehensive guide for everyone planning to attend or travel near the parade site, ensuring a memorable and orderly celebration.
