Tirumala Tirupati Introduces Aadhaar Validation for Laddu to Ensure Fairness

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken a significant step towards ensuring transparency in the sale of the famous Tirupati Laddus by introducing Aadhaar validation for devotees purchasing laddus without tokens. This new system, which began on Thursday, aims to eliminate the involvement of middlemen and curb fraudulent activities, making the process smoother and more secure for genuine devotees.

Tirumala Tirupati Introduces Aadhaar

Aadhaar Validation for Laddu Purchases

TTD's Additional Executive Officer, Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary, addressed the public to clarify the purpose behind this new measure. He explained that some middlemen were exploiting the previous system by selling laddus in the black market, making it difficult for regular devotees to obtain them fairly. To combat this issue, TTD now requires devotees who do not have darshan tokens to register their Aadhaar card at specific counters within the laddu complex. Upon registration, devotees can receive up to two laddus.

Special counters numbered 48 to 62 have been set up for this Aadhaar validation process. Chowdhary emphasized that this new requirement applies only to those without tokens or tickets. Devotees who already have darshan tokens or tickets will continue to receive one free laddu and can purchase additional laddus as they did before, with no changes to the existing system for them.

Ensuring Transparency and Fairness

Chowdhary urged devotees not to believe any false rumours circulating on social media regarding the new system. He assured that this initiative is solely to benefit the common devotees by enhancing the transparency of the laddu distribution process. The introduction of Aadhaar validation is expected to significantly reduce the chances of black market activities and ensure that laddus reach those who truly deserve them.

The TTD's decision to implement this system reflects their commitment to addressing the issues faced by devotees and improving the overall management of resources at Tirumala. By making the process more secure and fair, TTD aims to provide a better experience for all pilgrims visiting the sacred site.

Positive Impact of the New System

This new Aadhaar validation system is anticipated to streamline operations at the laddu counters and reduce instances of fraud. Genuine devotees will find it easier to receive their laddus without any hassle, thanks to the added layer of security provided by Aadhaar registration.

TTD's Aadhaar validation initiative marks a positive change aimed at improving transparency and fairness in the distribution of Tirupati Laddus. Devotees are encouraged to cooperate with this new system to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience during their visit to Tirumala.
