Two express trains will start stopping at Tindivanam railway station from Monday, i.e., March 16, on an experimental basis. This step has been taken to provide better travel convenience for passengers from the Tindivanam region.

List of Trains with Major Halts
The trains that will now halt at the station are the Uzhavan Express with Train Nos. 16865/16866 and the Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru Central Express with Train Nos. 16159/16160. These services connect important cities and towns, and the new stoppage will make it easier for local passengers to access long-distance train travel.

The Uzhavan Express runs between Chennai Egmore and Thanjavur. While travelling from Chennai Egmore to Thanjavur, the train will arrive at Tindivanam at 12.13 am and stop for two minutes before leaving at 12.15 am. On the return journey from Thanjavur to Chennai Egmore, the train will arrive at Tindivanam at 2.13 am and depart at 2.15 am after a brief halt.
Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru Central Express
Similarly, the Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru Central Express will also stop at Tindivanam. Why are these Stoppages Necessary?
These stoppages are being introduced on a trial basis, as railway authorities will observe passenger response and demand before deciding whether to make them permanent. If the halt proves useful and receives a good response from passengers, the Railways may continue the stoppage in the future.
The new halts are expected to benefit passengers from Tindivanam and nearby areas by providing better connectivity to major destinations such as Chennai, Thanjavur, and Mangaluru without having to travel to larger railway stations.
