Despite the Covid outbreak China reopening its borders is a situation where all other countries and worried and taking it as an alarming situation and making several specific changes for people traveling to and from China, so as Thailand. A few days ago India also made changes in its arrivals for people coming from 6 countries including China.

Thailand imposed new entry requirements for visitors from abroad as China reopens its borders to travelers. International travelers will now need to provide documentation proving they have received all necessary COVID vaccinations before traveling to Thailand, according to the nation's aviation regulatory body.

According to government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul, the 1st commercial flight from China to Thailand, with Xiamen Airlines flight MF833, arrived in Bangkok today, 9th January 2023 carrying 286 passengers from Xiamen.

The Health Ministry stated that foreigners entering Thailand from nations where a positive RT-PCR test result is a requirement for entry must provide proof of valid health insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment. Passengers traveling through Thailand on a transit visa or with a Thai passport are exempt from the new entry criteria.

As of early Monday, 9th January 2023 all international arrivals must demonstrate that they are vaccinated or present a letter confirming that they have been cured of COVID-19 within six months, according to a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) that was released on Saturday, 7th January 2023. Those who have not obtained the vaccine will need to present a medical certificate explaining why they have not received the COVID-19 vaccination yet.

More information regarding the procedure was provided by CAAT, who said that the airlines will be in charge of verifying documents before passengers board the aircraft and publish a list of the number of doses needed for various COVID-19 vaccine kinds on their website. According to sources, the new policy will be in effect at least through the end of the month.

Present Covid Situation in China:

China's current Covid situation is more of a mystery as there is no proper official reporting by the country. Though it is visible to the world that the situation there was deadly and severe outbreak happened before China stopped reporting the exact official number to the world.

The severity of the covid situation in China is unsure as of now but according to news sources, hospitals and cemeteries are at capacity. Contrary to common belief, the country's decision to withdraw its zero COVID policy in early December 2022 did not necessarily cause the current wave of illnesses. Before limitations were relaxed, cases in China were already on the rise.
