Several areas in south and west Bengaluru will experience a planned power cut on Wednesday, December 24, due to maintenance work by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), officials said. The power supply will be stopped to carry out essential maintenance at the Padmanabhanagar, Subramanyapura, and ISRO Layout power
stations.
According to BESCOM, the power shutdown will be in place from 10 am to 4 pm on December 24. During this time, electricity supply will be suspended in many residential, commercial, and industrial areas connected to these stations.
List of Areas to be Affected
The areas expected to be affected include Banagiri Nagar, Pappaiah Garden, Balaji Choultry area, Siddamma and Siddaiah Reddy areas, BNM College area, BDA Complex, BSNL Office surroundings, BSK 2nd Stage, Chennammanakere Achukattu, Manjunath Colony, Padmanabhanagar, Raghavendra Layout, Kadrenahalli, Yarab Nagar, Teachers Colony, Kaveri Nagar, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, ISRO Layout Phases II and III, parts of Uttarahalli, Kumarswamy Layout, Vittal Nagar, Maruthi Nagar, Arehalli, Ittamadu, AGS Layout, Chikallasandra, Bhuvaneshwarinagar, Yelachenahalli, Gangadhara Nagar, Vivekananda Colony, Prathibha Industrial Area, Chandana Nagar, Kashi Nagar, Vikram Nagar, Bikashipura, BHCS Layout, Bendre Nagar, Eshwar Nagar, Kanaka Layout, Kanaka Nagar and nearby localities. Several apartment complexes, temples, hospitals, offices, and small industrial areas in these zones may also face interruptions.
Advisory for Residents
BESCOM has advised residents, offices, and businesses in the affected areas to plan their work, especially those who depend heavily on electricity during the daytime. People are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to avoid inconvenience during the outage.
Officials stated that the power supply will be restored soon after the maintenance work is completed, depending on technical conditions. BESCOM has requested consumers to cooperate and bear with the temporary disruption, stating that the work is necessary to ensure better and more reliable power supply in the future.
