Indian Railways has added two timely festive specials for Gandhi Jayanti and Puja travel. Bengaluru Cantonment–Madgaon runs on October 1 and returns October 4. New Tinsukia–SMVT Bengaluru operates on Thursdays from October 8 to November 12, with Monday returns from October 12 to November 16. Train 06597 departs Bengaluru Cantonment at 11:50 pm on October 1, reaching Madgaon at 6:10 pm on October 2. Return 06598 leaves Madgaon at 8:40 am on October 4, arriving Bengaluru Cantonment at 11:55 pm. Halts include SMVT Bengaluru, Hassan, Subrahmanya Road, Udupi, Karwar and Cancona. The rake has 23 coaches, including AC Two-Tier, AC Three-Tier, Sleeper, General, and Divyangjan-friendly brake vans.
Bengaluru–Goa special train timings and halts
This one-trip coastal special eases the long-weekend rush toward Karavali and Goa. It runs via Sakleshpur ghat and the Konkan. Useful boarding points include Subrahmanya Road, Udupi, Kundapura, Gokarna Road, Ankola, Karwar and Cancona. Expect about 18 hours in each direction, so prefer Sleeper or AC berths for comfort.
Assam–Bengaluru special train timings and halts
Weekly Train 05952 leaves New Tinsukia at 6:45 pm every Thursday from October 8 to November 12, reaching SMVT Bengaluru at 9:30 am Sunday. Return 05951 departs SMVT Bengaluru at 12:05 am every Monday from October 12 to November 16, arriving New Tinsukia at 4:25 pm Wednesday. Key halts include Dibrugarh, Rangiya, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Perambur, Katpadi and Jolarpettai. The rake fields 20 LHB coaches, mostly AC Three-Tier.
