The Government of India, led by Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, has announced significant road development projects in Tamil Nadu. These initiatives, with a total investment of ₹61.92 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme, aim to improve regional connectivity, boost economic growth, and ensure smoother transportation for the state's residents.

Road Projects in Tamil Nadu
1. Chengalpattu District
A fund of ₹3.14 crore has been approved to enhance the Chennai-Trichy-Dindugal Road (NH-45) in the Maduranthagam Urban Limit. The project includes laying paver blocks to improve the riding surface over a 0.6 km stretch.
2. Tirupattur District
For the Tirupattur-Singarapet Road, ₹12.64 crore has been sanctioned. This includes a 3 km improvement project, featuring the reconstruction of a High-Level Bridge at Km 9/10 on SH-18A.
3. Tiruvannamalai District
A sum of ₹12.14 crore has been allocated for widening the Tiruvannamalai-Thiyagadurgam Road to Melkachirapattu Road via Kilkachirapattu. The project will upgrade the road from a single lane to a double lane, including strengthening and CD works over a 2.15 km distance.
4. Kallakurichi District
With a budget of ₹16.50 crore, the Thiyagadurgam-Sankarapuram Road will be widened from a single lane to an intermediate lane. The project also involves strengthening works, reconstruction of culverts, and building retaining walls and roadside drains over 10.96 km.
5. Namakkal District
Another ₹16.50 crore has been approved for the Puthanchanthai-Kondampatty-Musiri Road. This 4.6 km project includes widening to a double lane, culvert construction, and protective walls for improved durability and safety.
