Pune Trains Affected from Sept 19 to Oct 4: Several Services will be Disrupted Due to Infrastructure Work

Railway passengers travelling through Pune are likely to face disruptions from September 19 to October 4 as major infrastructure work is carried out at Pune and Hadapsar railway yards. The work is related to the construction of a third railway line between Hadapsar and the Ghorpadi Coach Maintenance Complex. To carry out the project, railway authorities will impose traffic blocks in phases, affecting several mail, express, passenger, DEMU and local train services.

Pune Trains Affected from Sept 19 to Oct 4

From September 19 to 23, traffic blocks will be imposed every day on both the up and down main lines between Pune and Hadapsar. These blocks will remain in place from noon to 5 pm. From September 24, the duration of the blocks will gradually be reduced in different phases to allow construction and other railway works to continue.

Further restrictions are planned at Hadapsar yard on October 3. The work will be carried out in two phases, from 8 am to noon and again from noon to 4 pm. On October 4, a major block will be imposed between Hadapsar and the Ghorpadi Coach Maintenance Complex from midnight to 10.30 am. Another block will follow from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm for signalling and telecommunications work.

The railway work will have a considerable impact on train operations. A total of 42 mail, express, and passenger trains will be cancelled, affecting 98 trips. Another 25 trains will be diverted, affecting 36 trips. In addition, 35 trains will be short-terminated or short-originated, affecting 99 trips.

The railway authorities will also regulate 22 trains covering 71 trips, while the timings of 14 trains involving 25 trips will be changed. Services operating on important routes such as Pune-Solapur, Pune-Nagpur, Pune-Mumbai and Pune-Howrah will be affected.
Since some of the work coincides with Ganeshotsav, passengers may face additional inconvenience due to the festive rush. Travellers are advised to check the latest train status, revised timings, and cancellation information before leaving for their journey.

The third railway line between Hadapsar and the Ghorpadi Coach Maintenance Complex is expected to increase railway capacity and improve infrastructure in the Pune division once completed.
