Tamil Nadu is currently experiencing intense summer heat, with temperatures exceeding 100°F (around 38°C) in several areas. However, there is some relief ahead, as the weather department has predicted thundershowers in parts of the state, which would help reduce the discomfort caused by the rising heat.

Tamil Nadu's Increased Temperatures
The temperature has been increasing steadily, making it difficult for people to go about their daily activities. Many are choosing to stay indoors during the daytime to avoid the harsh sun. Recently, places like Karur Paramathi, Erode, and Vellore recorded temperatures above 100°F. Officials have also warned that the heat may continue to rise in the coming days.
Tamil Nadu Rain Alert

On April 11, districts close to the Western Ghats are expected to receive light to moderate rain. By April 12, light showers are likely in South Tamil Nadu and the Western Ghats region, while most other areas may remain dry. Light rain is expected in coastal areas of South Tamil Nadu and parts of the Western Ghats between 13 and 14 April. The rest of the state, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, will mostly experience dry weather. On April 15, only a few districts of the Western Ghats may receive light rain. Temperatures are expected to remain normal until April 11, but from April 12 to 13, they may rise by 2-3°C above normal, increasing discomfort from heat and humidity.
In Chennai, the weather will be partly cloudy with light rain and temperatures around 37-38°C. Fishermen are advised to avoid the South Andaman Sea due to strong winds.
