In Thursday, several parts of Tamil Nadu will face power outages as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) carries out scheduled maintenance work. The affected regions include select areas of Chennai and Thanjavur. In Thanjavur, residents in neighborhoods such as Okkanadu, Keelaiyur, and Vannipattu will face a six-hour power cut.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, more than 70 locations across the state are expected to experience electricity disruptions. According to the electricity department, over 60 areas in Chennai and more than 10 in Karur will be impacted. Power supply will be suspended for around five hours in Chennai, while Karur may see outages lasting up to eight hours.
Chennai Power Outage Specifics
In Chennai, several neighborhoods are set to experience power cuts. In Ambattur, the outage will affect Adayalampet Millennium Town Phases I to III, along with Padasalai Street. Other impacted areas include Kambar Nagar (Phases I to IV), CASA Grand, KG Kulakarai Street, Vanagaram Road, TT Mathew Road, and the 200-Feet Service Road.
Power interruptions are also expected in Red Hills, covering Sothuperumbedu, Kumaran Nagar, Sengalamman Nagar, Vijayanallur, Siruniyam, Parthasarathi Nagar, and Vijaya Garden. In Tiruvanmiyur, residents in Indira Nagar Cross Streets (17th to 20th and 25th to 29th), as well as Indira Nagar Main Road, will face disruptions as well.
Karur's Planned Power Interruptions
In Karur, power cuts are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm in several neighborhoods, including Kamaraja Puram, KVB Nagar, Sengunthapuram, Periyar Nagar, Jawahar Bazaar, Thirumanilaiyur Agraharam, Gandhi Nagar, Rathinam Salai, Kovai Road, Vadivel Nagar, Ramanujam Nagar, Thirukampuliyur, and Andankoil.
Teynampet in Chennai will also face outages, affecting streets like Poes Garden, TV Salai, Jayammal Road, Elango Salai, Poes Garden Road, Rajakrishna Road, Eldams Road, Periyar Salai, Kamarajar Salai, Kamarajar Street, Seethammal Colony, KB Dassan Road, Bharathiyar Street, Bakthavatchalam Street, Appadurai Street, TTK Road, Cathedral Road, JJ Road, Parthasarathy Pettai, Parthasarathy Garden, KR Road, George Avenue, SSI Road, HD Raja Street, ARK Colony, Anna Salai, Venus Colony, and Murrays Gate Road.
The electricity department has noted that power may be restored earlier than anticipated if maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the status of power restoration.
