On Thursday, August 14, scheduled power outages are expected across more than 230 locations in Tamil Nadu. In Chennai alone, over 120 areas will face a five-hour interruption from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for essential maintenance work. Other affected cities include Coimbatore, Erode, Kallakurichi, Krishnagiri, Salem, and Vellore.

Chennai Power Outage Information
In Chennai's Kilpauk, power cuts will impact areas including Medavakkam Tank Road and Secretariat Colony. In Taramani, outages are planned for Sardar Patel Road and Sriram Nagar. Meanwhile, Chembarambakkam will face interruptions along Bangalore Trunk Road and around Panimalar Medical College.
Coimbatore and Erode Planned Interruptions
Coimbatore will experience power outages from 9 am to 4 pm in areas including Bharathi Colony and Peelamedu Pudur. In Erode, cuts are planned from 9 am to 5 pm, affecting localities such as Sivagiri and Vettuvapalayam. These interruptions are scheduled as part of routine maintenance work.
Kallakurichi and Krishnagiri Power Interruptions
In Kallakurichi, scheduled power outages will take place from 9 am to 4 pm in localities including Parigam and Thavadipattu. Krishnagiri will face similar disruptions during the same timeframe in areas like Kamandoddy and Koneripally. These power cuts are necessary to carry out maintenance activities.
Salem and Vellore Power Interruptions
In Salem, localities including Ariyapalayam and Thalavaipatty will experience power outages from 9 am to 5 pm. Similarly, Vellore's Senthamangalam and Asanellikuppam will be without power during the same hours. These interruptions are aimed at improving the long-term stability of the electricity supply.
The planned maintenance across Tamil Nadu is crucial for upgrading infrastructure, and residents are advised to plan ahead to minimize inconvenience during these periods.
