Chennai Residents to Face 5-Hour Power Cut on 7 October: Key Areas Affected and Safety Tips

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation has announced a power cut on Tuesday, 7 October, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. due to maintenance work. This power outage will affect Chennai's major areas for five hours. The company has expected residents' cooperation during the power cut, as it is

carried out to ensure long-term smooth functioning. Residents should either schedule their important activities before or after the power outage. They should charge their electronic devices fully, do laundry beforehand, keep their backup power ready, store enough water, and keep their lights and torches handy before 9 a.m. Moreover, they should not use lifts during the power cut. They are also advised to stay careful and follow safety measures during the power outage.

• Pallavaram: Durga Nagar, TNHB Colony, Celliamman Koil Street, and surrounding roads

• Thirumullaivoyal: CTH Road, Cholembedu Main Road, Nethaji Nagar, Kalainjar Nagar

• Mylapore: R.K.: Salai, T.T.K. Road, and nearby streets like P.S. Siva Swamy Salai, Veeraperumal Koil Street, Lloyds Lane
