Central Railway has announced 10 additional summer special train services on the Konkan route to handle the heavy passenger traffic during the holiday season. Railway officials said the extra trains will run between Panvel and Sawantwadi Road, and between Panvel and Madgaon.

Summer Special Trains
According to the railway statement, eight weekly special trains will operate between Panvel and Sawantwadi Road. Train number 01007 will leave Panvel at 6.10 pm every Saturday from May 16 to June 6, 2026, and will reach Sawantwadi Road at 4.30 am the next day. For the return journey, Train number 01008 will depart from Sawantwadi Road at 7.20 am every Saturday during the same period and arrive at Panvel at 5 pm.
Major Stoppages & Features
These trains will stop at several stations, including Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, and Kudal. The Sawantwadi special train will have different types of coaches, including AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, AC 3-tier economy, sleeper class, general second class, generator car, and guard brake van coaches.
Other Special Trains
Apart from this, Central Railway will also run two special trains between Panvel and Madgaon. Train number 01105 will leave Panvel at 5.45 am on May 18 and reach Madgaon at 6.10 pm the same day. Train number 01106 will depart from Madgaon at 4.30 pm on May 17 and arrive at Panvel at 4 am the next day. The Madgaon special trains will halt at stations such as Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali.
