Mumbai Local Alert: Central Railway Announces Kasara Daytime Blocks from October 10–13

From Saturday, October 10, to Tuesday, October 13, Central Railway will enforce daytime blocks at Kasara. The work advances the Asangaon–Kasara third line and Kasara yard upgrades. Suburban services will halt between Asangaon and Kasara during each block. Several long‑distance trains face regulation or short delays. The windows fall within a wider October 7–18 programme.

Block windows are tight and vary across the four days. October 10 runs 3:35 pm to 9:35 pm. October 11 is 11:30 am to 6:30 pm. October 12 and 13 operate 3:35 pm to 8:35 pm. Last pre‑block down leaves CSMT at 12:30 pm; first post‑block services differ, summarised below.

Suburban services and intercity trains affected

All suburban services between Asangaon and Kasara remain suspended during block windows. On October 10, 12 and 13, CSMT–Kasara locals at 13:10, 14:17, 14:46 and 16:50 short‑terminate at Asangaon. On October 11, the first three do so. Reverse services start from Asangaon at 16:12, 16:54, 17:39 and 18:54. Inbound 12166, 12172, 12870 and 11082 are regulated; outbound 12139, 12109 and 12137 leave late.

MSRTC buses and cabs alternates

MSRTC will run buses linking Asangaon with Kasara and Nashik during the block. Commuters arriving on short‑terminated locals should change at Asangaon for these services. Buses may be deployed from Shahapur, Kalyan and Igatpuri depots as demand rises. Share cabs and jeeps on the highway also help. Avoid the first post‑block rush shown above.

How to track NTES/139 live status

Use the National Train Enquiry System website or the official NTES app for live status. Call 139 and choose train running or PNR options. For SMS, send your ten‑digit PNR to 139, or text TRAIN and number to 139. Refresh near departure to capture late reschedules or regulations.

Weekend Nashik–Igatpuri travellers should start earlier, pack light and target returns after the first post‑block local. Add buffer if connecting to flights or intercity buses. Carry water and snacks for highway waits and keep e‑tickets handy. Expect the heaviest crowds around the last pre‑block and first post‑block locals.
