Indian Railways has announced several summer special trains to handle passenger traffic during the holiday season, connecting major cities with states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During the summer, many people travel to their hometowns, making it difficult to get confirmed tickets, and these extra trains are expected to reduce

crowding and make travel easier.
The newly introduced summer special trains will connect major cities, including Mumbai, important hubs in Gujarat, and Kolkata, with key destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, as these routes usually see heavy passenger movement during holidays.
Udhna-Jaynagar Summer Special Train
One important service is the Udhna-Jaynagar Special Train, which runs via Gorakhpur. It departs from Udhna on April 12, 2026, and from Jaynagar on April 15, 2026. The train will stop at major stations such as Vadodara, Kota, Agra Fort, Kanpur Central, Gorakhpur, and Darbhanga, covering a wide route.
How will these Summer Special Trains Help?
Every year, the summer holidays bring a large number of passengers to railway stations. Trains often run at full capacity, and getting tickets becomes very competitive, especially on routes connecting metro cities to northern states. To manage this rush, Indian Railways regularly introduces special trains during peak seasons to increase the number of available seats and reduce pressure on regular trains, where waiting lists can become very long. With these additional trains, passengers will have a better opportunity to confirm tickets and more flexibility in planning their journeys. Some trains will also have unreserved coaches, which are helpful for people travelling at the last minute.
