Sri Lanka aims to attract tourists for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) purposes. Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, highlighted potential destinations for MICE tourism and announced the opening of new venues and hotels to accommodate the growing number of visitors.

Dr. Velson Vethody, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai, expressed Sri Lanka's rich heritage, scenic beauty, green landscapes, and the warmth of its people. He urged Indians to explore Sri Lanka, calling it an ideal tourism destination.

Sri Lankan Airlines, with 95 flights connecting Sri Lanka to nine Indian cities, plays a pivotal role in fostering air connectivity between the two nations. Mumbai and Colombo are connected by two daily flights. The tourism minister of Sri Lanka, Harin Fernando, acknowledged India's steadfast support during challenging times and invited more Indians to experience the shared history and culinary delights of Sri Lanka, assuring them of a home away from home.

As Sri Lanka gears up for an influx of Indian tourists, the island nation looks forward to strengthening its tourism ties and fostering cultural exchange with its close neighbor. With a shared history and promising attractions, Sri Lanka is poised to become the go-to destination for Indian travelers in 2024.
