Special Train Under Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme 2026
Before the train's departure, Devasthan Minister Joraram Kumawat met the pilgrims, enquired about their well-being, and wished them a safe and comfortable journey.
According to officials, the train will reach Rameswaram on July 15, where the pilgrims will stay for a day. They will then travel to Madurai on July 16 to offer prayers at the famous Meenakshi Temple. After completing the pilgrimage, the special train is scheduled to return to Jaipur on July 20.
The first group of pilgrims includes 970 elderly people from four districts of Rajasthan. The state government has arranged food, accommodation, medical support, and other necessary facilities during the journey. A team of 30 government officials and staff members is also travelling with the group to assist the pilgrims throughout the trip.
Upcoming Scheduled Trips
Minister Kumawat thanked Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for introducing the pilgrimage scheme and said that more special trains will operate in the coming weeks. The next pilgrimage trains are scheduled to depart from Ajmer on July 20, Jodhpur on July 24, and Udaipur on July 30, taking more senior citizens to the same destinations.
The Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme aims to help elderly residents of Rajasthan visit important religious destinations with government assistance while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and organised travel experience.
