To clear the extra rush of passengers during the busy travel season, Western Railway has announced special train services between Valsad, Velankanni, and Dahanu Road. The special trains are expected to help pilgrims and other passengers travelling to the famous shrine town of Velankanni by providing additional seats and reducing pressure on regular trains.

Special Pilgrimage Train
The Valsad-Velankanni Special with Train No. 09030 will run on July 3, 2026, Friday. The train will leave Valsad at 6:25 pm and reach Velankanni at 10:00 am on July 5, Sunday. For the return journey, the Velankanni-Dahanu Road Special with Train No. 09029 will operate on July 6, 2026, Monday. It will depart from Velankanni at 12:30 am and arrive at Dahanu Road at 10:30 am on July 7.
Important Stoppages
The special train will stop at several important stations on the route, making it convenient for passengers from different parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Major halts include Dahanu Road, Palghar, Vasai Road, Panvel, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Yadgir, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntla, Cuddapah, Razampeta, Renigunta, Katpadi, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Tirupadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Thirunallaru, Karaikal, Nagore and Nagapattinam before reaching Velankanni.
Advisory for Passengers
Western Railway has advised passengers to book their tickets early, as heavy demand is expected for these services. Reservations for Train No. 09030 opened on June 30, 2026, through PRS counters and the IRCTC booking system. The special trains are expected to provide a comfortable travel option for pilgrims visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health at Velankanni and other passengers travelling on this route.
