Devotees traveling to the Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tamil Nadu can now enjoy a special bus service provided by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSTRC). This service is designed to make the journey more convenient and comfortable for pilgrims. Here are the details about this new offering.

Bus Service to Arunachaleswarar Temple

The Arunachaleswarar Temple, also known as Annamalaiyar Temple, is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located at the base of the Arunachala hill in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. The temple is famous for its association with the element of fire (Agni). Lord Shiva is worshiped here as Arunachalesvara or Annamalaiyar, represented by the Agni lingam. His consort, Goddess Parvati, is depicted as Unnamalai Amman or Apithakucha Ambal.

The special bus service to the Arunachaleswarar Temple will start on July 19. The bus will depart from Tuni RTC Complex, a suburb in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh. Along its journey, the bus will make stops at six temples, giving devotees the opportunity to visit multiple sacred sites in one trip. The temples on the route are Vijayawada's Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple, Sri Kalahasti Temple, Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple, the Golden Temple in Tamil Nadu, Arunachaleswarar Temple, and Kanchi Divya Kshetra.

This special bus service is designed to allow devotees to visit these temples and return to their homes within a day. The fare for this super luxury bus is Rs 3,500 per person. If there are enough passengers in certain villages, the bus will make additional trips to accommodate them. This initiative aims to provide a comfortable and safe travel experience for devotees, allowing them to immerse themselves in the spiritual ambiance of the Arunachaleswarar Temple and other sacred sites along the way.

Booking tickets for the special bus service is easy and can be done both offline and online. For offline booking, you can visit the temple directly and inquire about the special bus service at the temple counter. Purchasing a special darshan ticket, usually priced at Rs. 50, will help you avoid long queues and gain access to the bus service.

For online booking, you can visit the official temple website. Select "Darshan Tickets" from the menu and choose your preferred type of darshan, such as Regular or VIP. Then, pick the date and time for your visit and enter the required details, including your name and contact information. Confirm your booking and make the payment. You will receive an e-ticket via email.

It is important to note that the cost of tickets may vary on special occasions and festival days.
