The temporary halts will be available from July 30 to August 28, 2026. These arrangements will benefit pilgrims coming from Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh, making their journey to the temple easier. Located in the Saranda forests of Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district near Goilkera, Baba Mahadevshal Dham attracts a large number of Shiva devotees every year during Shravan.

During this period, devotees visit the temple to offer prayers and perform Jalabhishek. Due to the heavy rush of pilgrims, the Railways makes additional arrangements every year to ensure smooth travel.

According to the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway, 22 pairs of trains, including 11 pairs of Express trains and 11 pairs of MEMU services, will stop at Mahadevshal station for two minutes during the festival period. This will allow pilgrims to get down closer to the temple and reduce dependence on other transport options.

Important Train Stoppages

Several important trains will have these temporary stoppages, including the Danapur-Durg Express, Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express, Howrah-Kantabanji Ispat Express, Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, Howrah-Jagdalpur Sambaleshwari Express, Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express, Tatanagar-Itwari Express, and Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express. Some MEMU and weekly services will also receive temporary halts from August 1 to August 2.

To manage the expected increase in passenger numbers, the Railways will provide additional facilities at Mahadevshal station. These include temporary ticket counters, drinking water arrangements, better lighting, improved cleanliness, and increased security.

Aditya Chaudhary, Public Relations Officer and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Chakradharpur Division, said railway staff from different departments, including the Commercial Department and Railway Protection Force (RPF), will be deployed to assist passengers.

Advisory for Passengers

The Railways have advised devotees to carry valid tickets and cooperate with officials. With improved train connectivity and better passenger facilities, the initiative aims to make the journey to Baba Mahadevshal Dham safer, smoother, and more convenient during the month-long Shravani Mela.
