Passengers travelling on the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express will soon have a new boarding point in Ahmedabad. From August 17, the semi-high-speed train will operate via Gandhigram station instead of its current route, offering improved connectivity for passengers in the city. The Railway Board approved the route change in June, and Western Railway will implement it next month.
Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express Revised Route
With the revised route, the train will run through Gandhigram, Dholka, Dhandhuka, Botad, Dhola, Dhasa and Junagadh before reaching Veraval. These stations will become the new scheduled stops, replacing the existing route via Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner and Rajkot. The change is expected to improve rail connectivity for passengers travelling from these regions.
Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express's Reduced Travel Time
The train's travel time will also be slightly reduced. Under the new route, the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express will complete the journey in about 6 hours and 50 minutes, nearly 10 minutes faster than the current schedule. The service will continue to operate on all days except Thursday.
Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express Revised Timings
The departure and arrival timings will remain unchanged despite the route revision. Train No. 26901 will leave Sabarmati at 6:00 am and reach Veraval at 12:50 pm. On the return journey, Train No. 26902 will depart Veraval at 3:50 pm and arrive at Sabarmati at 10:25 pm. Ticket bookings for the revised route are expected to begin soon.
The Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express, inaugurated in May 2025, is operated by Western Railway and provides a fast and comfortable travel option for passengers, including tourists and pilgrims visiting the Somnath region. Railway officials expect the revised route to improve accessibility and convenience for travellers from Ahmedabad and nearby areas.
