continue over the weekend, with more rain and cloudy skies likely in the coming days.

Rainfall Alert in Delhi

The IMD has forecast generally cloudy conditions along with light to moderate rainfall during the day. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). Strong winds are likely to blow at speeds of 60 to 70 kmph, while isolated areas may experience gusts reaching up to 80 kmph during thunderstorms.

Delhi's Weather

Residents woke up to cooler temperatures and overcast skies on Friday morning. The rainfall and strong winds helped bring down temperatures that had recently climbed close to 45 degrees Celsius. As a result, outdoor conditions became much more comfortable across Delhi and nearby NCR cities. The weather change also provided relief to people who had been struggling with the prolonged heatwave.

Advisory for Residents

However, weather authorities have advised people to remain alert during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds. Residents of Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad have been asked to take necessary precautions. Strong winds could lead to falling tree branches, disruptions in traffic movement, and minor damage to weak structures.

People are advised to avoid standing in open areas during lightning activity and seek shelter in safe places. Staying away from old or unstable structures is also recommended during stormy weather. While the rain has brought relief from the heat, residents should continue to follow weather updates and remain cautious until conditions improve completely. The IMD will continue monitoring the situation and provide further updates as needed.
