Passengers travelling through Pune railway station on Sunday, July 5, should expect major changes in train services as the Central Railway (CR), Pune Division, will carry out a nine-hour traffic and power block from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The block is required to complete important infrastructure improvement works in the Pune railway yard.

Pune Trains to be Affected
During this period, railway officials will replace DDS points 207 and 208 and upgrade the existing 52 kg railway tracks with a stronger and more advanced 60 kg Double Density Switch (DDS) track system on the Pune-Lonavala section. The work also includes engineering, signalling, telecommunication, and overhead electrical equipment upgrades, which are expected to improve safety and train operations in the future.
Due to the maintenance work, platforms 1 and 2 at Pune station will not be available for trains coming from the CSMT Mumbai side. Moreover, train movements towards platforms 2, 3 and 4 from the Mumbai direction will also remain suspended during the block.
As a result, several train services will be cancelled, short-terminated, short-originated, or delayed. The cancelled trains include Pune-Talegaon suburban services, Pune-Daund DEMU, Satara-Pune DEMU, and the CSMT Mumbai-Pune Express (Train Nos. 11007 and 11008).
Some suburban trains from Lonavala and Talegaon will end their journey at Shivajinagar instead of Pune. Long-distance trains such as the Jaipur-Pune Express and CSMT Mumbai-Pune Express will terminate at Khadki, while trains arriving from Jammu Tawi, Amravati, and Nagpur will end at Hadapsar. The Baramati-Pune DEMU will terminate at Daund.
Several trains will also start from different stations instead of Pune. The Pune-Kolhapur Express will begin from Satara, while the Pune-Jaipur Express and Pune-CSMT Mumbai Express will start from Khadki after the block. The Pune-Nagpur Express will originate from Hadapsar. Four long-distance trains to Bengaluru, Chennai, Kakinada Port, and Daund may also be delayed by around 30 minutes.
