Pune Metro is set to bring exciting changes to its services by extending operational hours until 11 PM, starting by the end of January 2025. This decision is aimed at providing better connectivity and convenience for late-night commuters, including those traveling from the railway station and airport or working late shifts. With this adjustment, Pune Metro takes another step toward making urban travel seamless and efficient.

Currently, Pune Metro operates along two key routes-Vanaz-Ramwadi and Pimpri-Swargate-with the last trains departing at 10 PM. The extended schedule will add six extra trips after 10 PM on both routes, with trains running at 10-minute intervals. This adjustment will cater to the increasing number of passengers, ensuring shorter waiting times and smoother travel experiences for late-night travelers.
As of January 2025, daily ridership on Pune Metro has crossed two lakh passengers, demonstrating its popularity and importance in easing the city's commute. The addition of late-night services is expected to further boost these numbers, providing a dependable travel option during off-peak hours. The Vanaz-Ramwadi corridor, in particular, is set to benefit significantly, offering up to 37 trips between 11:30 PM and 11:35 PM. Similarly, the Pimpri-Swargate corridor will operate 34 services during prime late-night hours.
The upcoming Vanaz-Ramwadi and Pimpri-Swargate corridors, scheduled for completion by 2025, will further revolutionize Pune's public transport. These routes promise enhanced connectivity and smoother travel, offering more options for residents to navigate the city efficiently.
In addition to extending metro services, Pune's transport network will continue to include taxis, cabs, and buses to ensure comprehensive coverage for urban commuters. This combination of metro and other transport options will provide flexibility and convenience for residents and visitors alike.
While the changes bring many benefits, some concerns have been raised about non-pickup zones, which may inconvenience certain passengers. Officials are addressing these issues to ensure a user-friendly system that meets the needs of all commuters.
This extension of Pune Metro services marks a significant improvement in the city's urban transit system. By offering additional late-night trips and enhancing overall connectivity, Pune Metro is not just responding to current demands but also setting a new benchmark for public transport in the city. These developments promise a more accessible and reliable travel experience, transforming how residents move around Pune.
