From there, she will advance to the Pampa base camp. Depending on the assessment by the Special Protection Group (SPG), which is in charge of the security arrangements, President Murmu will either trek the traditional 4.25-km uphill path or be transported via an emergency road to reach the temple's summit.

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), responsible for the temple's management, has been proactively preparing for this significant visit. PS Prasanth, the president of the TDB, expressed enthusiasm about the President's decision and stated, "The SPG will decide whether she will trek or be driven up the hill. However, due to the exceptional nature of this visit, authorities have decided to restrict darshan on May 18 and 19 and suspend virtual queue ticket services to prioritize security. Sabarimala, nestled at an elevation of 3,000 feet in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, holds a revered position among South India's pilgrimage sites. Traditional access to the temple necessitates a 41-day period of penance, culminating in a barefoot trek from the Pampa River, with pilgrims carrying an Irumudi, a sacred prayer kit. It is anticipated that President Murmu will also prepare the Irumudi at the Pampa base camp, adhering to the temple's revered traditions, though further details are pending official confirmation.
