On Friday, August 8, several parts of Tamil Nadu will face power outages as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation undertakes maintenance work.

The majority of the disruptions will affect around 60 areas, with Chennai-particularly Ponneri and Korattur-experiencing cuts from 9 am to 5 pm. In Coimbatore, certain areas will see power interruptions between 9 am and 4 pm.
Details of Power Outages in Chennai
Chennai is set to experience scheduled power cuts on account of maintenance work. In Ponneri and Korattur, electricity will be unavailable from 9 am to 5 pm, aiming to enhance service reliability in the long run.
In the Ponneri Division, outages will occur from 9 am to 2 pm, impacting areas including Theruvai Kandigai, Sipcot, Karadiputtur, Amarambeedu, Thanippoondi, Panchalai, Vaanimalli, Periyapuliyur, Gopalretti Kandigai, N.M. Kandigai, Kannankottai, Poothur, and both Small and Large Pommathikulam.
Korattur Power Cut Information
On August 8, Korattur will face scheduled power interruptions due to maintenance activities. The outage will affect areas such as Korattur North, Srinivasapuram, NRS Road, Mettu Street, Perumal Koil Street, Palla Street, Lakeview Garden, TVS Nagar, Santhosh Nagar, Annai Nagar, Alliance Orchid Spring, Lakshmi Puram, Iyyappa Nagar, Senthil Nagar (1st to 17th Streets), and Thillai Nagar.
Power Disruptions in Coimbatore
On August 8, Coimbatore will experience scheduled power outages from 9 am to 4 pm in multiple areas. The affected regions include Irugur, Ondipudur, Odderpalayam, S.I.H.S Colony, and parts of Pallapalayam. Power supply will also be disrupted in Kannampalayam, Chinniampalayam, Venkitapuram, Thottipalayam, Goldwins, Krishnapuram, Semmandampalayam, and certain parts of Somanur.
These maintenance activities are essential to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply across Tamil Nadu. Residents are advised to plan their activities in advance to minimise inconvenience during the outage.
