Pitripaksha Mela Special Trains

Indian Railways has announced special passenger trains on the Rani Kamlapati (Bhopal)-Gaya and Jabalpur-Gaya routes to help pilgrims travelling to Gaya for the upcoming Pitripaksha Mela. The additional services have been planned to manage the expected rush and provide a comfortable journey for devotees visiting Gaya to perform ancestral rituals.

Pitripaksha Mela Special Trains

According to East Central Railway (ECR) Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra, the Rani Kamlapati-Gaya special train, numbered 01661/01662, will leave Rani Kamlapati at 3.20 pm on September 29, October 2 and October 7. It will reach Gaya at 2.30 pm the following day. For the return journey, the train will depart from Gaya at 3.30 pm on September 30, October 5, and October 10, and will reach Rani Kamlapati at 4.15 pm the next day. The Rani Kamlapati-Gaya special train will have two AC-2 coaches, two AC-3 coaches, four sleeper class coaches, and four general coaches.

ECR will also run the Jabalpur-Gaya special passenger train, numbered 01701/01702, during the Pitripaksha Mela period. The train will depart from Jabalpur at 9.25 pm on September 21, October 4, and October 9. It will arrive in Gaya at 2.30 pm the following day. On the return journey, the Jabalpur-Gaya special train will leave Gaya at 6.55 pm on September 28, October 3 and October 8. It will reach Jabalpur at 8.10 am the next day.

This train will also have two AC-2 coaches, two AC-3 coaches, four sleeper class coaches and four general coaches. Railway authorities said these additional services have been introduced considering the expected increase in the number of devotees during the Pitripaksha Mela. The special trains are intended to provide hassle-free transportation to pilgrims travelling to Gaya for the religious event.
