The Patna Metro project has entered a faster phase of work after a high-level review meeting focused on speeding up construction and opening important sections of the network at the earliest. Senior officials said that closer monitoring and better planning will help reduce delays and allow key stations to start operations sooner.

Review Meeting
The review meeting was led by Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department and Managing Director of the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL). The meeting was attended by officials from PMRCL, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and other concerned departments. The main aim was to assess the current progress of the project and identify issues slowing down the work.
Instead of discussing only routine updates, officials closely reviewed each stretch of the metro corridors. They compared planned construction targets with actual progress on the ground. The team examined technical, operational, and administrative challenges that were affecting the timeline. All obstacles were discussed in detail, and departments were instructed to resolve them without delay.
Completion of Construction
During the meeting, Pudkalkatti stressed the importance of completing construction quickly while strictly following safety and quality standards. He gave special importance to opening the remaining two stations on the Priority Corridor at the earliest. Officials said these stations are crucial for improving connectivity and building public trust in the metro system.
The primary objective of the government is to complete the metro project faster and provide Patna residents with a reliable and user-friendly public transport system. With better coordination among agencies and tighter supervision, the administration hopes the metro will soon become an efficient alternative to the city's overcrowded and congested roads.
