Work on the Bhopal Metro is moving, as the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has started construction on the Blue Line after progressing with the priority corridor on the Orange Line.

Bhopal Metro Blue Line
The new Bhopal Metro Blue Line will include 13 elevated metro stations. According to officials, construction of one station has already begun, and work on pillars and other infrastructure is also underway along the route. The Blue Line will run between Bhadbhada Square and Ratnagiri, covering several important areas of Bhopal. Some of the key locations along this stretch include Prabhat Square and Jawahar Chowk, which are busy parts of the city. The route is expected to improve connectivity for residents living in these areas.
Total Stations to be Included
Stations planned on this line include Bhadbhada Chauraha, Depot Chauraha, Jawahar Chowk, Roshanpura Square, Parade Ground, an area near Kushabhau Thakre Hall, Prabhat Square, Govindpura, Indrapuri, Piplani, and Ratnagiri Square. Construction work has already started at Ratnagiri Metro Station, marking the first visible step in building the new corridor.
Bhopal Metro Orange Line
At the same time, work is continuing on the Bhopal Metro Orange Line. Officials said that a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) will begin digging work for one of the two planned underground stations after the end of March. Preparations required for building these underground stations have already been completed.
Bhopal Metro Project
The overall metro project in Bhopal includes two main lines, the Orange Line and the Blue Line. Together, the project plans to build 28 metro stations across the city. Out of these, eight stations have already been completed as part of the priority corridor on the Orange Line. The remaining 20 stations will be constructed as the project continues.
Once completed, the Bhopal Metro network is expected to improve public transport in the city, reduce traffic congestion, and provide faster travel for thousands of daily commuters.
