There is a continuous snow falling in Kedarnath Dham since today morning as per the reports. For the 4 four days starting today, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an "Orange Alert" for bad weather conditions in Uttarakhand.
The district has experienced rain and snow for the past two weeks, which has caused the temperature to drop significantly. In addition, it issued a warning for areas above 3500 meters due to heavy snowfall and hailstorms with winds of 70 km/h.
As a result, the Uttarakhand Police advised all the pilgrims to take extra care while on Yatra as the weather is very bad due to continuous snowfall from today morning and do not hesitate to reach to them an emergency contact number 112 in case of any danger.

The Meteorological Department stated in a statement that continuous snowfall has been occurring at Kedarnath Dham for the past 13 days, the weather there is still miserable, and the area is getting chilly as a result of the snowfall.
The chairman of temple committee has urged visitors to Kedarnath to look into the weather conditions before embarking on the yatra in light of the current severe conditions. Particularly, the pilgrims as well as the administration are having problems as a result of the weather in Kedarnath, which is constantly raining and snowing.
However, due to excessive snowfall on the path of pilgrimage and a weather warning from the MET department, the Uttarakhand government is no longer accepting registration requests from travelers for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra until further notice.

The four holiest temples viz., Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath are included in the Char Dham yatra. Long hikes and days of walking are required to complete the journey. Every year, thousands of devotees travel the Char Dham yatra. However, the recent snowfall in the district has posed a challenge for all the pilgrims who are already there on the yatra.
Additionally, the Meteorological Department warned that isolated areas in Himachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, south interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, and Kerala may experience heavy rainfall.
