The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has started two new daily bus services between Patna and Prayagraj to improve public transport. This special service began on Friday and will continue until February 28, 2025. The decision aims to provide better connectivity for devotees traveling to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025.

Bus Schedule and Route
Each bus has 42 seats and follows a route via Ara, Mohaniya, and Varanasi before reaching Prayagraj. The buses depart from Bankipur and Gandhi Maidan bus stands in Patna.
- Patna to Prayagraj: Departs at 8:30 PM and arrives at 4:00 AM the next day.
- Prayagraj to Patna: Departs at 10:00 PM and reaches Patna by 5:00 AM.
- Ticket Price: Rs 550 per passenger.
BSRTC Administrator Atul Kumar Verma confirmed that this route was carefully planned to ensure easy access for pilgrims.
How to Book Tickets?
Passengers can buy tickets from the Bankipur bus stand counter for both journeys-Patna to Prayagraj and Prayagraj to Patna. This service is especially helpful for those visiting the Mahakumbh Mela, one of the largest spiritual gatherings in India.
Mahakumbh Mela and Travel Challenges
The Mahakumbh Mela attracts millions of devotees for ritual bathing in sacred rivers. Due to the large crowds, Prayagraj faces heavy traffic congestion and has been declared a no-vehicle zone during the event. The new bus service aims to reduce travel difficulties and provide smooth transportation for pilgrims.
With this initiative, BSRTC hopes to make travel more convenient and ensure that all visitors can participate in this grand religious event without facing transport problems.
