New 32 km Expressway to Connect Uttar Pradesh and Haryana; Also Connected to Yamuna Expressway

A new 32 km expressway connecting Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh to Palwal in Haryana is set to bring a significant change to the infrastructure between Aligarh and the National Capital Region (NCR). The government has started the process of tendering for this new expressway, which aims to make travel faster and more efficient. By connecting directly with the Yamuna Expressway at Tappal and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway at Palwal, the new expressway will provide a more streamlined route for travelers going to major cities such as Agra, Mathura, Delhi, Greater Noida, Noida, Palwal, and Gurugram.

Expressway to Connect Uttar Pradesh- NCR

A Key Development

This expressway is an important part of the Master Plan 2031 created by the Aligarh Development Authority. It is expected to cut travel time drastically, with the journey from Sarsaul to the Yamuna Expressway taking just an hour. Stretching over 32 kilometers, the expressway is projected to cost around Rs 2,300 crore and will be built as a four-lane road. This development highlights the government's commitment to improving regional connectivity and supporting economic growth.

Impact on Local Communities

To build this expressway, land will need to be acquired from 43 villages in Aligarh, including major ones like Andla, Arrana, and Jarara. GPS markings for land acquisition have already started in these areas. While this step is crucial for the expressway's construction, it also highlights the significant impact the project will have on local communities and the surrounding landscape.

Apoorva Dubey, Vice Chairman of the Aligarh Development Authority, stressed the project's importance, saying, "This is the most important plan in the Master Plan 2031. It will accelerate development in the region and improve connectivity." The expressway is expected to boost key developments such as the Defence Corridor, Transport Nagar, and the new Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University. It will also support infrastructure improvements in Greater Aligarh and speed up upgrades to the Aligarh-Khair road.

Benefits for Commuters

For residents and commuters in Noida and Gurugram, the new expressway will help reduce congestion in areas like Khair and Jattari. This means a smoother and faster travel experience for everyone. The expressway represents a major advancement in the region's infrastructure, promising to greatly improve connectivity between Aligarh and the NCR. It will make it easier to access important urban centers and new projects in the area.

The greenfield expressway from Aligarh to Palwal is a crucial project that will greatly enhance connectivity within the NCR. It will reduce travel times and drive regional development. Beyond improving transportation, this project is expected to stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life for many people in the region.
