Many countries imposing travel restrictions due to a sudden spike in COVID- 19 cases, and Nepal has also become one of them to impose certain COVID restrictions upon arrival in the country. Let's understand further the mandatory regulations Nepal has put in.
For all international travelers, Nepal has mandated the COVID-19 negative report. According to Nepal Airlines, customers entering from international borders are required to show either a COVID-19 R-T PCR negative report or an international COVID-19 certificate.
According to an AIR correspondent, the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines, has made it mandatory for travellers entering from the international sector to provide either a Covid-19 RT PCR negative report or an international vaccination certificate with a bar code. The new Nepal Airlines policy was implemented in response to the rising number of Covid-19 incidents occurring globally.
Massive increases in Covid infections have been observed in South Korea and Japan, two nations where Nepal has a high rate of mobility.

Nepal had been closed since the pandemic's outbreak in early 2020 and began progressively reopening to tourists on March 10 of last year (2022). In an effort to spur the tourism sector, all pre-arrival testing procedures for vaccinated travelers were also removed.
The restrictions imposed again, according to the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal, were brought on by rapid increases in infection rates in several nations, including China, South Korea, as well as Japan, where Nepal has a high mobility rate. The aviation authority requests that any non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers conduct a pre-departure COVID-19 test and submit a negative result as a precaution.
Passengers who have completed all required vaccinations, however, must provide their globally recognized vaccination certificates. As of right now, passengers are not needed to quarantine themselves in Nepal due to the restrictions; nevertheless, hotel reservations and purchased travel insurance are required.
Children below the age of five will be exempt from the testing requirements. In keeping with the aviation authority, Nepal Airlines, the country's flag carrier, has sent out a notification to all passengers requiring them to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result when they arrive in Nepal.
Nepal Airlines emphasizes that the limitations apply to all foreign passengers, regardless of the origin country, in contrast to some nations that only mention how travelers arriving from China must abide by the rules.

Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, a joint spokesperson for Nepal Airlines, further stated that the most recent action was taken in response to an increase in COVID-19 incidents around the globe.
According to a representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the decision in question was made on December 23, 2022. Ghimire continued by saying that they had given the notification following this and the regulatory body's ruling.
