The development of the Namo Bharat train and corridor projects is set to speed up with the BJP government now in power in Delhi. Previously, the project faced delays under the AAP government, but with BJP leading in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, the work is expected to progress without obstacles. The two key corridors, Delhi to Panipat-Karnal and Delhi to Alwar, are likely to move forward quickly.

Government Support and Budget Allocation
The central government has allocated Rs 2918 crore to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to carry out these projects. This financial support will help ensure the smooth development of the Namo Bharat corridors and improve connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Progress on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor, which covers 82.5 km, is almost finished. The Supreme Court had to intervene to push the project forward, and now the final stages of work are taking place. This corridor will soon be ready for use, showing how quickly the Namo Bharat initiative can progress under the right leadership.
Delhi-Alwar Route Awaiting Approval
Another important corridor, the Delhi-Alwar route, is planned to extend from Delhi to Gurugram and further to Shahjahanpur Neemrana Bahrod (SNB). The project is currently awaiting approval from the central government. Once the first corridor is completed, work on this route is expected to begin soon.
A recent meeting under the PM Gati Shakti Mission discussed the progress of the Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat Project (RRTS Corridor). This corridor aims to reduce travel time between Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and Karnal in Haryana. Currently, the journey takes 3.5 to 4 hours, but with this project, the time will be cut down to just 90 minutes. This will greatly improve travel between Delhi and the northern NCR cities.
The NCRTC has also prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a third corridor from Delhi to Karnal. All routes will connect at Sarai Kale Khan, making it a central hub for travel across different regions.
With the BJP-led government supporting the project, the Namo Bharat train network is set to grow at a faster pace, improving connectivity and making travel more convenient for passengers.
