Travelers using Namo Bharat trains in New Delhi can now enjoy a 10 percent discount on all their journeys by leveraging the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). This discount is a recent enhancement to the Loyalty Points Program launched by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation Ltd. (NCRTC), applicable for purchases made through the 'Namo Bharat' application. The initiative aims to make commuting more affordable, encouraging more sustainable and efficient travel options.
This loyalty program grants travelers one point for every rupee spent on Namo Bharat trains with the use of an NCMC card. Each point equates to Rs 0.10, and these points accumulate in the user's NCMC account. For instance, spending Rs 100 on a trip will result in 100 points being credited, which is equivalent to Rs 10. The discounts are redeemable at station ticket counters, making travel more cost-effective for regular passengers.
In an effort to streamline ticketing and promote eco-friendly travel, NCRTC introduced a 10 percent discount for digital QR ticket purchases via the 'Namo Bharat' app, in addition to using NCMC cards. The dual approach of digital and card-based discounts not only benefits passengers financially but also aligns with modern, paperless, and sustainable travel practices.
Enhanced Savings for Regular Commuters
The loyalty rewards program is specifically designed for frequent Namo Bharat train users, allowing them to progressively save more with each journey. This system encourages continuous use of the Namo Bharat service, making each trip more economical. Passengers are incentivized to download the Namo Bharat mobile app, which not only facilitates easier travel planning and booking but also offers an initial bonus. New app users receive Rs 50, equivalent to 500 loyalty points, upon installation.
Moreover, the referral program further enriches the user experience by awarding both the referrer and the referee Rs 50 (500 loyalty points) each, thereby fostering a community of app users. These points, valid for a year from the date they're awarded, underline the importance of regular, sustainable travel and active engagement with the app.
